গত পর্বে Right forms of verbs এর ১০টি rules নিয়ে আমরা আলোচনা করেছি। আজ আলোচনা করবো আরও কিছু rules নিয়ে। একটা ব্যাপার খেয়াল করেছেন? Right forms of verbs এর অনেক rule কিন্তু tense এর সাথে বেশ মিলে যায়! এর মানেটা কী দাঁড়ায় তাহলে? Right forms of verbs এ দক্ষতা আনতে গেলে আপনাকে অবশ্যই tense জানতে হবে এবং বুঝতে হবে। তাহলে শুরু করছি-
Rule 11. Sentence এ since / for এবং সময়ের উল্লেখ থাকা মানে নিশ্চিতভাবেই সেটা Present Perfect Continuous Tense.
Example: It has been raining since morning.
Rule 12. If দ্বারা যুক্ত clause টি present indefinite tense হলে, পরের অংশটি অবশ্যই future indefinite tense হবে।
Example: If he goes out, I will sleep.
Rule 13. আগের পর্বে একটা rule জানিয়েছিলাম। To এরপর verb এর base form হয়। আজ একটু অন্য পথে হাঁটবো। কিছু to এর পর verb এর base form হয় না, ing হয়।
যেমন- look forward to, with a view to, get used to.
Example: I am looking forward to getting a book from Nilkhet.
Note: এই phrase গুলোর আগে am / is / are / was / were / shall be / will be জাতীয় be verb থাকলেই কেবল পরবর্তী verb
এর সাথে ing হবে। নয়তো to এর স্বাভাবিক নিয়ম অনুযায়ীই base form বসবে।
Rule 14. By এর পর verb থাকলে সে verb এর সাথে ing হয়।
Example: She completed the home task by getting my help.
মূলত to বাদে বাকি সব preposition এর পরে থাকা verb এর সাথেই ing হয়।
যেমন- before, after, in, of, for, with, without.
Example: Without getting Cover Letter, no CV in allowed in this Company.
Rule 15. Would you mind, mind, past, could not help, can not help, worth শব্দগুলোর পরে যে verb বসে, সেই verb টি
সর্বদাই ing যুক্ত হবে।
Example: Would you mind leaving from my life?
Rule 16. Would that যুক্ত sentence এ subject এর পর could বসে। এবং verb এর base form হয়।
Example: Would that I could buy a book.
Rule 17. Got, having, to be যদি কোন sentence এ থাকে তবে সেখানে থাকা verb টি V3 হয়।
Example: The story is to be continued.
Rule 18. বর্তমান কালে চলমান কোন কাজ বুঝালে sentence টি present continuous tense হয়।
Note: sentence এ now, right now, at the moment ইত্যাদি adverb এর উপস্থিতি থাকবে।
Example: The boys are playing in the field right now.
আপাতত দুই পর্বের rules যা যা আলোচনা করা হলো সেগুলো অনুশীলন করতে থাকুন। শেষ পর্বে থাকছে আরও কিছু rules ও আলোচনা।
